Default Replacement Headlamp Bulb

I need to replace the headlamp bulb on my Ultra Classic (' 08). The HD number is 68329-03. I have to believe there must be a standard bulb number that I can use to go buy this bulb at my local NAPA store rather than being locked into the MOCO. Any help out there?

You can get them at any auto parts store (preferably O'REILLY AUTO PARTS) and they're relatively inexpensive. I can't remember the number (seems like I remember it being H9003) but just take the old bulb in or like was mentioned already, it's an H4 bulb with the three wide prongs, pretty standard.

Any GOOD parts store will be able to figure it out unless you go to 'Zone (shudder!) or some other company.

Sylvania Silverstar Ultra 9003 (HB2)/H4. They are the brightest you can put on to replace OEM without upping the wattage/amerage and having wiring issues due to the draw. A single bulb is like $20-22. You can get the two pack for under $40, as I just did with a rebate from Checker Discount Auto. Ended up getting the two pack for like $25. PIAA and Hela make comparable model bulbs. They may be harder to find locally, but you can get them on-line. Good luck.

J&P Cycles has 80/100 watt H4s, and they are far and away better than any OEM replacement bulb. I have used one for almost two years in my 1200C with no problems whatsoever. Irecently put in a "blue" version of similar wattage in my Road King, with no problems. The increased light output is truly a "night and day" difference. In the Sportster, I used the HD "high output" bulb, but it didn't hold up more than a few short months before it burned out. If you don't go any higher than the 80-100, there shouldn't be any significant heat or wiring issues. There is a 100/100 watt version I believe, but that one has a warning re; heat issues, current draw, etc.

I would think your HD shop would give you one under warranty, unless there's not one near you.
