Should not be a problem, just be sure to strap it down. I brought my SG home from Pueblo, Co. to Meridian, Id. about 1000 miles. In the back of my GMC 3/4 ton short bed truck. Just remember to check the straps ever so often to make sure they stay tight.

Harbor Freight has an inexpensive wheel chock. About $ 30.00 It was one of the rocker type, where you ride onto it and get off the bike. A friend bought one the other day and I tried it out with my Ultra. If you bolted it to a 2x8 setting across the bed of the truck it would hold the front wheel as well as give a hand when loading and unloading it by yourself. Myself, I have a piece of 2x6, I put under the jiffy stand when I want to strap it down. The bike sets up straighter, making it easier for me. Dan

Toughest part for me is getting bike on off by myself. I can back up to a hill at my home but never know what to expect at the other end. I have a ramp approx. 8" wide thank hooks together and two ramps on either side so I can use my feet to get off and on truck.

Just make sure that your cargo hooks or whatever are really solidly mounted. Use at least 4 tie-down straps. I make sure I line the front wheel up so it's straight on when I look at it in the mirror when I'm driving...if the bike tilts even a tiny bit I can see it instantly. I just use a piece of 2x4 for a wheel chock.
