Default pin stripes

Hello All,
I have a 2006 FLHT/I in Rich sunglo blue with a light blue (lunar blue ?) pinstripe on the gas tank. I've also added a color matched King tour pak that has the same pin stripe on the lid. I'd like to add a few pinstripes to the fairing and saddlebags, what are my options ? Can you buy the pin stripes directly from Harley ?
Thanks,
capt42a

The stripes are painted on at the factory, then clear coated. For best resutls, I'd look for some of the guys that do the free hand stuff at some of the bike rallies. It won't last forever, but pretty much your only option, unless you want to go painting on your bike.

I recently purchasedan'07 Ultra Firefighter Special Edition. I'm fond of theFire Engine Red, but I can leave the gold pin-striping back at the factory. I'm thinking of having a pin-striper brush on some "double-black" over the gold. (But, the tank decal is another problem altogether. Gold again. Not sure what I'll dowith that.)

But, myquestion involves thedurability and lasting nature of the brushed on pin-striping that I've seen these guys do fantasticwork with at various bike rallies, etc.So, when you say that "it won't last forever", is therea wayto minimize this problem? I'mcurious if a painter can even lightlyrun a coat of clear-coat over this and buff it down?

I know these arefoolish questions for some that have been around for a while, but...inquiring minds, ya know?

Thanks guys, Timba
