Smart Security System II pager eats batteries
Doesanyone have the Smart Security System II? The battery in my pager seems to last only for a few hours and it’s a little 3 volt button battery and it’s not cheap… I think that mine is defective??? I have heard from another, who is having the same problem. Is anyoneon this boardhaving this problem?
I contacted the dealer and since my warrantee is still in effect they are going to replace it. I know of one person on another board who says there is now a rechargeable pager which last longer. If this is the case I need to contact my dealer and see about an upgrade.

I have it but have not had a chance to really check it out. I'd be very interested in knowing how you make out. Mine was installed about a month ago and it seemed fine. Now the bike is back in for some different work, so I can't really check it out.

Mine's good for a couple of nights at motels. Are you assuming that the battery is low because the second light stops flashing? After about 2 hours of operation one light will stop flashing to conserve battery power even though the unit is operation normally.
I wish they'd come up with a small 110 volt receiver with a real alarm. That little buzz and a beep isn't much when you're sleeping, and the remote would break the bank to use as a home alarm when the bike's in the driveway or garage.

At least I am not the only one having this problem... I am going to the dealership on monday and see what I can do to upgrade to the newer style rechargable unit... I will keep you posted.
I hope the rechargable unit is the upgrade for the smaller unit that takes the 3 volt button battery.
