Can a '06 Ultra be modified to accept the new detachable docking system?

I don't see why not. I have an 06 EGC and I have it on mine... Yours is the same bike, just more options. There are post about the rear contact points wearing out and I bought a pair ofaluminum contact [points from a fellow on another board. They shouldn't wear out.
