Default Painting the SE a/c backplate

Thinking about painting my cast a/c backplate black. Looking for tips from those who have done it. Also what kind of paint matches up best with the black wrinkle.

I tried it on scoured chrome no problems, I thing you have to read the directions so the wrinkle agent works correctly, memory is not that good.

I painted mine with some flat black heat resistant paint (for BBQ grills) that I purchased at Home Depot. Wiped it down with alcohol, hung it from a piece of wire and sprayed on a couple coats. Easy to do and looks much better.

Powder coating is a great option if you have someone local and don't have to pay for shipping. Did mine for 25 bucks, a tad more than the cost of the Harley wrinkle finish paint.
