Anyone tried mounting their tolltags underneath their fairings? I'm trying to find a good out of the way spot to mount it so that it doesn't getstolen when I'm not on the bike.

The fairing mount would be ideal, but I'm just not sure if the signal is strong enough to pass through.

Thanks!

I haven't done it. I just velcro it to the inside of my windshield and it's easy-off/easy-on. I've heard others who said they mounted theirs inside the fairing and it works just fine.

I'm not in the Dallas area. EZ Pass is what is used around these parts and works in about a dozen states on the east coast and other parts of the US.

I have my EZ pass mounted inside the fairing. It is located above the radio (center of fairing) and as high up as I can go whilestill having clearance. It works fine for me.

I don't even carry mine on the bike. As long as your plate is registered with NTTA, they'll catch it with a camera and apply it. The tags misread frequently, so this happens more than you might think already.

Do not think you can run the one from your car on the bike. If it misreads, you'll be gett'n a gift in the mail!

I'm like PhilM. I just carry mine in the tourpak. Since the camera is used to verify the tag anyway don't really need the tag. And if you try to use the tag on another car it will record on your record as a violation and charge the full fee. They don't automatically pay unless you go online and tell your aaccount to pay them, get enough of those and that's when the gift comes. We've had people get bills for thousands of dollars after running the gates for a year or two. I've got a tourpak relocation kit on mine so it can't get a photo of my plate I guess, I've never been charged while on the bike...
