Get some glue trap paper...put it on the floor surrounding your bike. I think most rat poison is anti-coagulant...they eat it and then bleed out right where they drop. Makes a big mess.

Don't get glue traps if you have kids.
A friend of mine did that and his kids still have nightmares.

i have cats. I put my gloves on my seat and they don't jump on it.
Never ever had a mouse or rat problem... ok thats a lie... had one cat that would catch em in the fields and bring em home but she outgrew that.

 

+ 2 on the peanut butter [sm=signs003.gif] also a fellow i used to work with said that if you see one, there is 20, so leave them set for awhile. Check wires also, they played hell with my snowmobile electric brake wires and good luck.

 

[sm=outcold.gif]Set traps to catch them right away and put out poison bait to kill them if any more get in. I had the same problem and this worked. Just don't let any house pets get to the bait it will make them sick but it kills rats and mice fine.

 

Try mothballs to rid the place of rats. Just air it out real good before you start your scoot.

 

Get the glue traps and put a wad of peanut butter in the middle of them. Put them in all four corners of the garage and I promise you, you'll have 'em caughtin less than a day if they are there. Keep them out for a couple of weeks to make sure you get them all.

 

If you have rat's, check around the foundation of the house and look for burrow holes, also make sure your cover is intact on your floor drain.If you find some burrow holes, fill them with poison and fill the hole with dirt, might have to do this a coupleof times until you get rid of all of them.

 

I managed to kill three of the SOBs last night-- BIG ones too. One must have been almost 2 foot from his nose to the tip of his tail. Geez I hate those nasty little suckers. I had traps tripped another half-dozen times so I know there's more to eliminate. I'll set traps again tonight, and every night hereafter, until I stop getting results. Now, if I can just get the rest of the family to keep the garage door shut, I think I can't keep them from returning once I get their numbers down.

At this point, it looks like I got to them before they could do any real harm to any of my good chit. But it's going to take weeks to really clean up the mess they've left behind. Oh well, I'll use it as an excuse to give the garage a good decluttering.
