Again, look to the car/truck market...

I have flowmaster's on my truck, no problems whatsoever. Never been hassled.
If they were straight pipes, ya, thats a problem.

Worry worry worry

If/when bikes have cats (i know some do) you can't remove those, but mufflers can always be changed.

Headers will be available with certs if necessary. Mufflers, crossovers, etc as well.

Where is that sun at? Was it like this last winter too? I wasn't on the board for that.

There are Federal noise emissions standards
The Noise Control Act directed EPA to
set and enforce noise standards for transportation, construction, and electrical equipment,
and motors or engines.14 Under this authority, EPA established standards for motorcycles
and mopeds, medium and heavy-duty trucks over 10,000 pounds, and portable air
compressors. The standards for motorcycles only apply to those manufactured after 1982
and range from 80 to 86 dbA, depending on the model year and whether the motorcycle
is designed for street or off-road use.
See 40 Code of Federal Regulations 205, Subparts D and E for details
Note that tampering with the exhaust system is a violation of Federal law under these regulations. There are quite specific details on the labeling of the exhaust system that would allow officials to easily check if you don't have approved mufflers on the motorcycle.
I'm aware of most of what you posted. My Point is that local and state cops (I'm retired law enforcement) do not have the authority to enforce these federal regulations.

Thats right Bro. So, If you happen to get picked up by the DEA, a Federal Law Enforcement Agency for trafficking 250 kilos of metamphetamine, you might also get a ticket for your muffler.

most officers do ride and would never write a summons for noise unless the operator was a real pain. second to get a ticket like that in nyc says that you either went into a road block with brass on the scene and the guy had no choice or were pulled for something else and was cut a brake. i can say most cops here are not too concerned, there are a few with a bug up you know where.only in the hamptons have i heard of this.and as for inexpeirienced jap riders the natural process of elimination will correct all problems sooner or later. had a jap sport bike since 85 and i was a good neighbor, noise and all.

2 Smooth-
If they ride, you won't have a problem. We beat up on trucks and cages all day long, but I can't remember the last time I wallpapered a scoot, outside of little Dipsh*&^ on crotch rockets doing 140mph.
