1K service charges on my dealers web site is $185. For that kind of money I will probably have them complete the service.

We got a dealer here in Lansing that wants near 300.00 to do the 1K service. So I called around and took it up north in MI and got it done for 180.00 with synthetic oil!!! So what I am saying is make sure you call around.

It depends on what the dealer does. Sure $300.00 is too much for an oil

change. If you have the dealer check and bring everything back to factory

specs, it is not. I just ordered a new RK, and ask before ordering about the

cost for 1,000 mile check. They threw it in for free, They claim to check

everything. Friends that bought from this dealer, claim the really do nut and

bolt the bike. For me it is worth it especially for free. If there was a reasonable

charge, and I was sure they did all the work. I would pay for it. Just my 2

Doesn't matter how much they charge - if you had no problem doing all the work on your previous bike, then I see no reason not to continue doing it on this one. Keep all your receipts and the warranty should not be affected.

Well Scofield do ya have the list of what the dealer is sopose to do? Will ya do the same or more? One near byHDdealer told me it would be about $320.00 and more for synthitic for my 5000 mile check up. When I asked the in town Shop (Back Street Cycle Ironwood MI)with the old long grey haired HD owmer /machinest/builder he showed me the factory list and his list. His list had all the factory items and a bunch more he does cause he in there and a few that should probly be on the factory list. Then gave me a price of $185.00 with HD synthitic. He got the job. If you do the work make sure you have a record of it nad your oil reciept. ride free ride safe

Where is this Redline available for purchase? I will be going back to the states in a couple months and want to get everything ordered for my 1K service on my 08 Ultra. I've seen some recomendations but don't know the quantities or weights. I think I want all synthetic on this bike, I've never used them before.

ORIGINAL: scofield333

I am leading on doing it myself...I had to do the streeing Head Bearing Grease. The only problem I seem to have is the rear brake nosie which I have read is a common with the 08 Ultras
Try this,

500 miles and no squeal.
