Default CB Radio question

Can anyone tell me how to use my CB radio on my '07 UC without playing the am/fm radio at the same time? The only way I'm able to work it is to listen to the standard radio and depending on where the squelch is set, listen to CB when it breaks in. I asked my dealer the other day and he couldn't tell me.

Simple. The CB and FM radio have independent volume controls. Turn the volume all the way down (mute) for the FM radio, then turn on the CB and adjust the volume to your liking. If you want to hear the CB over the speakers (instead of headset) make sure the speaker switch is all the way down (towards you so the light comes on).

Thanks Neverenuff. Apparently my dealer and three of his mechanics didn't know that. They were all scratching their heads. One of them said he just attended a class on the radios too.

Thats why I never go to the dealer for service, unless its warranty!!! If they dont know how to operate the radio, imagine what they "dont know" about engines!!!

So you can't have the CB on while listening to a CD?

you can have the cd on while the cb is on, you will hear the cd until something breaks squelch (somone saying something on your desired channel) then when they stop talking you can respond by keying the mike with the switch on your handlebars or if you do not respond in a second, the music or whatever is on yoru cd will resume.

OK, that's what I thought but I have yet to actually use the CB.

I just turn the CB on and leave it in setup mode...takes away the radio and the clock. Sometimes there's no need for either of those items.
