Default Harmon Kardon

I'm thinkingof replacing the HK radio with a Premier with all the bells and whistles..

This is the unit I have in mind...

Anyone know of a problem with the system or has anyone replaced this radio... (the HK)

Bluetooth for HK is 500.00, this radio had it built in...
With a kit I can set up all my handlebar controls..

This is the device, it has instructions for Harley Davidson... Volume, Mode, Channel up and down, and song selection.
You just install different resistors in the same wire.. Had this on my 2004 HD Standard.. with a premier also...

Here's the site, has more info on it...

I like the JVC with the bluetooth 3.5 screen -- the price is about the same -- the JVC also has a detachable face

The bluetooth option for the Harley radios was listed in the 2008 Harley accessories catalog, but was dropped from the current 2009 edition. When I called my local dealer he said the part number was listed as unavailabe or discontinued.

The Harley Bluetooth option had several short comings:
  1. It would only work with your cell phone or one other bluetooth device.
  2. You needed to use the onboard (Ultra) sound/intercom system which required you to be tethered to bike by a large phone cord.
  3. As stated above it was not wireless.
  4. Again without the cord you could not listen to the stereo/CB/WB
In my humble opinion Harley needs to develop a sending unit that plugs into the comm port on the Ultra tank and the tour pack for the passenger.
This sending unit should be no larger than a lipstik case.
This sending unit should send any bluetooth signal to the new Harley wireless bluetooth in the helmet headsets.
The setup should allow the synching of at least 2 bluetooth devices.

This would allow you to synch your cell or bluetooth enable iPod.

HARLEY.... Are you listening?
I think the demand is there for this option.
What do you forum trawlers think?
