Default Help ! RG windshield or trim,

I have a 08 Road Glide, I ordered a Klockwerks shield and a HD chrome windshield trim, my shield will be in on Mon. the trim at least a week later, my question is if I install the shield first when the trim comes in will I have to remove the shield for any reason ?
Thanks inadvance

Wait until you get the trim to put the windshield on. You will be using different screws to hold the windshield and the trim. You need to take all the stock screws out again so you may as well do it once and be done.

I know you must be in a hurry to try the new windshield out. Which one did you get?

Be sure to post how much you like it after a test ride. I'm torn between one of those and a clearview. I hear the chrome trim doesn't fit the clearview very well since they are so thick.
Thanks.

I would follow Sifularson's advice and wait till everything comes in. No need to screw with the wellnuts twice. They are a pain![sm=goodidea.gif]

Steve, I thought the answers would be towait, its going to be hard looking at that new shield sitting there, however , thanks to all for the advice, and you can count on a road review, 2 maybe 3 weeks from now.

Whitch shield did you order? I have the eight in. dark smoke on order. It's supposed to ship on the 12th.
Make sure you post some pics after you do the install.

But in reality it only takes a few minutes to swap out the windshield, so why not go ahead and install it and let us know what you think? You should be able to put the chrome trim on without completely removing the windshield again by installing the special trim screws one at a time. If you're reasonably careful you shouldn't lose any of the wellnuts into the fairing and the trim will install just fine.

The instructions that come with the trim do not include removing the windshield, because USUALLY the wellnuts behave themselves and stay in place.
