Man you guys are computer junkies.....I can see if you have to carrying a notebook back and forth to work, but on a vacation?? I'm an IT guy, work on computers all day every day.....last thing I want with me when I go on a bike trip is a computer to remind me about work. Hell, I don't even turn my cell phone on!!
I hear ya Windup. I'm a photographer, and when I'm on the road I have to force myself to take a few shots.

sanaga. I would really cushion your laptop well, or better yet, don't take it. It sounds like you really don't need it. Besides with the road conditions in your country, you could better use the room for tire or bike emergency repair stuff. It's not like the US where there's Harley Dealers all over the place. Just my opinion.
true very true....u are the one and only guy here that suggest me to not bring the laptop coz the road condition....
i will consider ur input brutha....
although i bring my laptop, i still carry my bike tool kit...just a stock tool kit, nothing special tool kit...

Hauled two of my Mac PowerBooks down and up the Alaska Highway on different occasions.

Padded sleeve, garbage bag over wrap, near the top of the pile of stuff in the tour pack with clothing / towels below and above.

No problem.

In live in Denver Colorado, back in 2004 I rode to Wisconsin and back. With all my running around put on a little over 3000 miles that trip. Carried my HP 17" screen laptop all the way in the tour pak and 4 years later it is still working fine. Just make sure you carry it in its carrying case.

I have a very good "TUMI" brandbrief case/laptop casethat protects it pretty well. I carry mine in the tourpack on a regular basis. If it is off and in a decent case it should be fine as stated above.

I carry mine on all trips. Have carried it probably 25,000 miles or more. I make sure it is shut down and pack it between my clothes in the tour pack bag(liner).
