SERT: Voids warranty in Canada ? WTF

RE: SERT: Voids warranty in Canada ? WTF
Sorry..In Edmonton it's the same..It will void the warranty. The dealer can tell whatever he wants. If he stands behind it fine. When it comes down to the big bang... it's the bigger fish up the ladder that make the call. Now MOCO want the blown parts back as well.
It's listed in your parts manuel from HD Page 513....It's on their website under Screaming eagle... heck it's even here:
While in some cases your local HD Dealer can "sneak" a warranty issue through Harley's process as a courtesy to its own customers, it is highly unlikely that another Dealer will extend the same courtesy.
No matter what your local Dealer may tell you, the explanation of the warranty listed above is an honest interpretation of how Harley-Davidson is now enforcing its warranty.

Take it for what it's worth. The 2 Dealerships in Edmonton Will Warranty the 103 build but, Will Not Warranty the 110. Sure the SERT is warrantied (against manufacture defect).
Which ever way you go.....get it in writing. If your guy is a stand up type, and he probably is, no worries. He'll fix it for you if it blows. It maybe on his dime. I wouldn't take too much stock on MOCO.
You don't think they have their butts covered?
BTW.....Anything done to your bike at a dealership does get reported back to HD. I had something looked at on my 02 at a dealership 1000 miles away and they could tell me what was done, when and where. This was back in 02 Steven Drake HD in Victoria BC.
I wouldn't worry too much about it. It's there, I've givin' you 3 sources to check for yourself.Always get it in writing. I do and I have no worries. If the guy back peddles....... up to you. Deeley's got everything in Canada covered.

Harley-Davidson Screamin' Eagle Warranty Issues
It seems that many riders believe that using Screamin' Eagle performance upgrades have no effect on their HD Warranty. Despite what the local HD Dealer may tell them, only HD parts that are listed in the 2007 Catalog with a "green light" designation can be installed on their bikes without having a negative effect on the warranty. This means that most Screamin' Eagle components will void the warranty on much of the engine. While in some cases your local HD Dealer can "sneak" a warranty issue through Harley's process as a courtesy to its own customers, it is highly unlikely that another Dealer will extend the same courtesy.

HD MOCO is in a bad place, and their answer is to screw us/you/me with fine print and dealer/sales double-talk in order to keep selling product.
Their 'bad place'?.....Their bad place is they are struggling to remain compliant withEPA regulations that not only include emmisions, but also noise levels....Big Brother Green Goverment has placed a heavy hand on all MOCO's recently, and it's only going to get worse......Since the 70's we have noticed 'off road use only' or '49 state legal', or 'not legal for sale or use on any motor vehilce operated in the state of California'disclaimers on every performance mod offered for cars and trucks, but we are now finally seeing them on bikes.
