Traded the streetglide for a roadglide today....
Hey everyone,
I have had a '08 SG for the past few months and really have enjoyed it but this past weekend we did an extended ride(350 miles) and I found out real quick that the SG bars didn't fit me well at all. I have severe carpal tunnel and really needed a set of higher bars without going to a set of apes. Well I have looked around for a few days and today I went and sat on a RG and it is tall enough with enough pullback that I think I'll be able to ride more comfortably. So tomorrow I'm going to pick up an anniversary RG and they are going to transfer my backrest/xm radio. As much as I love my SG I probably would have been better off buying the RG to start with.

Actually HD only has 1 set of bars that will fit the '08 due to the fly by wire(according to the three dealers I talked to) and they didn't give me enough rise for what I wanted. I am coming out actually very good on the trade and will have to pay just under $2k difference between the SG and RG. Gotta remember though that my bike does have a set of HD blade rims on it so I'm taking some of a hit. Plus the bike is due for a service now so I'm picking up that money. The frame mounted fairing will probably make it easier on my hands to ride as well. I didn't get a chance to test ride when I bought because I had just had bilateral carpal tunnel surgery on both hands. I've signed up with the local Hog chapter to help organize a few rides and be a road captain so I'm planning on spending quite a bit of time riding this year.
