Default Daytona Bike Week

My job sent me to Cocoa Beach this week and I didn't even know this was bike week. Tuesday after work I made the drive to Daytona. I know it was Tuesday and it did rain that evening, but I expected more. Were my expectations too high or did the rain and it being Tuesday have something to do with it?

Daytona bike week has spread out over 5 or 6 different places - so it depends on where you are as to your perception of attendence but it is down

This weekend is the biggest part of it. Many people are just setting up as we speak. My buddy just set up the 5th wheel at the campsite and got the last lakeside campsite. Many are comming in tomorrow night and sat morning. Also what Texan said, The racetrack-downtown at night, the famous bars at night. It is a large event covering the whole town but, then again maybe the Price of gas (That has nothing to do with the oil baron in office) and the Economy (That also has nothing to do with who is in Office) Might be keeping people away. I have noticed there are not as many snowbirds this year as I have seen in years past!

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, and YES!!!! (so far). The entire area they mowed down at Destination Daytona is filled with main-stream vendors and the old store on Beach Street has quite a few around it too. The few "souvenir" vendors around the New Smyrna Beach store are the cheapest (or were last weekend anyway) and(as expected) some more near Millers and around the Last Resort. Haven't been to the speedway or Main Street yet.

I got sent to Orlando for work this week, so I flew in a couple of days early to hit Daytona, I rented a RoadGlide.. I did the Iron Horse in Ormond, Destination Daytona, Main Street and rode the loop.. All of it was frickin' great Saturday and Sunday...

My only complaint was the a$$hat that rented the roadglide before me filled it with cheap gas and it was pinging bad... After I burned a gallon or so of fuel I stopped and loaded it with octane boost and premium.. Much better after that...

I was in Orlando last night, the Blue Martini is a great club to check out.. So is Chillers...

I'm not too familiar with the area. I went to the dealership off 95. The largest HD Dealer in the world. For them to be so "large" and it only being Tuesday they were out of all the nicer 3X shirts. They had a few tents and vendors set up but I guess the rain ran most of them away because they were closed.
I ventured to Main St. and it was O.K. The vendors didn't seem reasonable. Well I talked to 2 places that sold parts and 1 guy was selling the Road King Fairings and their prices were the same as any ordinary store.
I did get to a dealership closer to Cocoa Beach (Pineda) and found the people there was nice and friendly and I talked to them for a while before coming home.
