Default Garmin 650 GPS Audio Problem

I added a garmin 650 to my 07 FLHTC. I connected the audio jack to the AUX on the radio. I can barely hear the mp3 player at full volume when driving on the freeway 85. Does the zumo 550 put out more sound? Do I just need to add an amplifier? I plan on adding new speaker Hogtunes speakers, will this be enough extra volume? Which speakers put out the most volume J&M or Hogtunes?

Does the volume level on the 650 need to be cranked up? Just a thought...

Don't have the 650 but the 550 has two volume settings. One for the voice commands and one for MP3/XM.....

I keep them both at full and adjust the radio volume for the riding conditions.

The 550 actually has 3 volume settings. The MP3/Navigation Commands that you mention, which is the percentage of total volume each will output. Then there's the Master Volume setting which is accessed by pressing the + or - rubber soft key (Zumo must be in the cardle). This is the one you want to set to MAX to feed the bike radio then adjust the other two for comfort.

You said your's is a 650 so I'll presume you meant Nuvi 650. Read page 30 of your manual, it also has multiple volume settings. Make sure the Master is at MAX.

Thanks Wecroft. The master volume was set at 80%. I will give it a try again this weekend.
