Gerbings are great,Ive had the set for 10 years.Only down side is you tend to ride when it is really cold, watch out for ice! If you can ride to Gerbings its a great putt. The Hood Canal area is a great ride, local for me too.

Thank you everyone...just what I needed. Up to now I've gone with...silk longjohns, cotton pants/shirt, wool bicycle tights and wool sweater, and finally a layer of leather. It works, but not really as flexible a system as I want. Being able to dial in a temp is going to be great. This really simplifies the process. I'll just go and get Gerbings.

I ride year round, commute 105 miles a day into DC. I'd recommend the heated jacket over the vest. First, it is warmer and second it has the plugs at the end of the sleeves for gloves. You want the jacket to fit snug against your shirt, so you should try it on before you buy one.
I don't wear heated pants, legs are ok with overpants for an hour or two. If I was going to ride longer I'd buy the pants too. For gloves I'd go with the Warm N Safe insulated gloves. I sold my Gerbings/HD gloves on EBAY as soon as I got a pair of the Warm N Safe. These gloves aren't as cumbersome as the Gerbings and have greater heat output (they are also cheaper than Gerbings) The Warm N Safe dual thermostat is a better designed unit.

Turtleman56, I was like you, thought only Gerbings was the way to go. Until I tried Warm N Safe (gloves and thermostat)... I'm totally happy with the Gerbings Jacket liner. The Gerbing gloves don't produce the heat the Warm... gloves do. That is why I changed, got tired of being cold when the temp was below freezing.

I have the gerbings pants and jacket liners. They are great. I had the gloves and switched to the warm and safe. They are much better gloves IMO. They are also cheaper.

Powerlet makes a great jacket liner as well as gloves.

Gerbings has just released a glove liner that can be worn under the next size larger all weather gloves, for the same warm hands and less bulk.

Be certain to get the controller for the ability to set the temperature to one that works for you.

Good Luck

Are the Gerbings chest size conversions good or do you have to buy 1 size less? Just thinking about ordering one but don't want to order too big or small.

Hardav23, Check with the local Honda shops. A lot of them stock Gerbings, so go and try them on there and then order online.
