RE: rear running light as brake light?
i used this led strip--http://*******.com/287uea
and ran the wires under the fender up to the taillight. [following the stock wire routing].
the strip has wires for ground/running/brake.
the taillight on my eg had an open spot in the plug thatlit the brake light.
plugged it in and works like a charm...

RE: rear running light as brake light?
good idea
You could easily make it one or the other.
I would think you need a run/turn module from HD or Kurykyn to start with as they give the turn/running light capability you are after. Then you would have to experiment a little to get your fender light into the same circuit. The run/turn lightsmay bedual filament though (probably not) and the fender light is not.
I bet it can be done with some time to study.
