Default Tour Pak on Road Glide??

Just got done with a Fly and Ride to Vegas where I rented an Ultra. Loved the large tour pak, great for strage and convenience. I'm thinking of adding one to my RG. What have you guys done and what would you recommend? Should I make it removeable?? Get the lighted one, do they make detachable electrics (wires) as well??

Thanks

All of what you said is available. Harley has a small harness for detachable tourpak rack that's $12.95, and if want to carry alot of gear, get the King Tourpak. Helmets fit fine in it. Lighting is your choice.

I have the detachable King Tour Pack with passenger back rest and rear speakers on my '05 RG. It goes on and off with ease. I normally leave it off except for longer trips. I think the bike looks good either way.

John, if you go to HD's website you can see the various tour paks, detachable racks, etc. YourRG is already wired to accept the TP wiring mentioned byBDif you choose a lighted TP. If you are still using the RG radio antenna, it gets relocated to attach to the TP, if you choose a TP that comes with the antenna mount already installed. If you want a cleaner look, you can mount the antenna inside the fairing and use a Road King TP without the antenna mount.

If you choose the Ultra TP, it will come with the light bar, but will also come with holes for mounting the speaker pods that come OEM on the Ultra. You can also buy a TP without the Ultra run/brake light bar and add it later; many do so.

Thanks for the replys... I like the idea of being able to remove easily but having the option for more space when needed. I did not know that you could add the light bar later... that's good to know.

Used quick detachable hardware, added speaker pods, I wish i would have got lights like the ultras have. I didnt becauseI thought I would remove the tour pack for local riding but I never take it off. Oh I also have the George Anderson tour pac relocater, moves tour pac back for more passenger room.

So the tour pack relocater works on the detachable. How much further can you move it back ?
