Default road king custom - any way to dress the bags up?

I love the leather bags on my RKC but I fond them a little boring... there are companies that make accent pieces for hard bags and for road king classic bags but I can find anything to make the customs bags *pop*.

Any ideas?

I removed mine and replaced them with painted hard bags.

Yep, best solution. I did the same thing with my Classic.

You could alway add a little fringe.

Look at the badges that are on the Heritage Softtail bags, might work.
also look at the various brake caliper inserts, may be too small though. I used a round one to replace the plain chrome washer on my RKC console nut.
if you can get a catalog, look at all the different trim pieces offerred - not just for bags - for anywhere on a bike. you may get some ideas.

The red reflectors both broke off aftertwo replacements each side. I bought the " wing' looking bar and shield self stick emblem from the dealer for about 12 bucks each and put them on the side of the lid's closest to the front of the bike. Looks ok.

Me too!

They'd be a decent bag if they would lock and wouldn't scratch so damn easy.

depend on how much you want to spend on pop. I sent my seat to Alligtorbob.com and I'm going to send him my bags and leather tour pack. I think some nice contrasting leather will be a subtle pop; not too polished, just understated. I was thinking about replacing with plastic bags and trunk but wonder do they go on the same way as the leather? Will they fit inside the nostalgic bag trim?

Sceramin Eagle Road King has trim on lower part of bag, don't know if you can get trim from dealer or if there is a part number for it???
