RE: road king custom - and way to dress the bags up?
see, you're looking at it all wrong. there are lots of options out there to 'dress up' the hard bags because they need it. the leather bags are just tasteful enough by themselves that they don't need all that fancy dress up. whats that saying? you can put a gloss coat on a turd, but in the end its still a turd..... hey guys, relax, just kidding

Comfort Profile Rear Saddlebag Guards: Part# 49087 List Price $146 http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_US
Nostalgic Road King Saddlebag Guard Rails: Part# 91265-98A List Price $215http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_US
I found that with the RKC classic saddlebagsthe saddlebag guards were not ideal to open, the belt buckle latchsitsbehind where the guard rail goes across. When my wife would open the saddlebags she would scratch the bags with her fingernails. I ended up opening the saddlebags for her all of the timebecause I didn't want the RKC saddlebags scratched up any more. I ended up replacing them anyhow with the Screamin Eagle Road King leather flame inlay saddlebags with the upgraded lock and that solved the problem completely.
