I am shocked to hear of the death of Boyd Coddington. Anyone that is a car hobbyist knew of Boyd and his work. He was a true inspiration and will be missed. My condolences to his family.
Boyd was a great designer and craftsman. He was able to take the business to the next level by surrounding himself with very talented craftsmen and subcontractors. When he gave up part of the wheel business to investors, then Super Shops went Chapter 7 with over $750,000 owing for consigned wheels, it was too much. Boyd managed to keep his branded name and come out independent, and with some of his wheel business. Anybody who could work with the first wife in the office while dealing with the highly egotistical and difficult second wife probably did have at least 3 heart attacks!
You gotta be a real gearhead instead of just watching TLC. Maybe your too young, but he designed cars for ZZ Top and in his early days, he built many customs and got down and dirty while working at Dizzyland.

I'll miss his touch, definitely he was way out in front of his peers. Can you imagine the conversation he must be having with Henry Ford right now?! [sm=deal.gif]
