DIY security siren install problem...
I have an '03 FLHTCI. I saw the DIY mod post(s) about installing the Radio Crack siren, so I'm trying. I have a factory service manual. So I pull the side cover on the right side, get out my trusty allen wrench...when I turn the bottom allen screw, it's VERY tight, I strain a bit, it lets go with a sharp crack (overtightened when installed, no doubt). OK, I've had that happen before on other things. I keep turning the screw and now comes the problem. It feels very "mushy"...it's turning, but feels like a screw does when it's threaded in plastic and is pulling the threads along with it. On most items, I could deal with that, but on the ignition module, I don't really want to ruin the mounting screws and/or create some expensive problem with it.
Question: Most of the posts I've seen are talking about '06s, '07s, and '08s. Has anyone done this mod specifically on an '03? Is it different in any major way from a later model? Is that screw threaded into plastic or is there a metal insert and I'm just feeling some crud buildup in the threads or something?
Thanks in advance for any help...

RE: DIY security siren install problem...
You do not have to take the allen screws out. If you look there are two 7/16 hex shaped nuts. Take them off and the whole unit will pivot out and you will find the plug in behind everything. I is a small oval shaped plug with a hard plastic cap on it and it has three (3) wires brown, black and green. The plug will be in a clip on the back of the unit you take out and it come up from the bottom.
