Not only are some shops laying off, he made the news laying off 41 in South Florida. I hate Rossmeyers. My wife occasionaly buys sale and clearance stuff, that's all of our coin they will get. I go to main street in Daytona during Bike Week and Biketoberfest. While there are some fine vendors to Destination Daytona, I know that Bucie is getting his cut.

It was their Pompano store. I only buy from them when I either want something so bad I can't wait or I have no other choice. Now, I think I'll double check before laying out my coin. I can't believe you can have a retail operation and such a poor customer satisfaction policy. After I got my credit from them, I told the guy I'd never spend another penny in their store. His attitude was "I don't make the rules, I just have to do what they tell me".
Perhaps he doesn't make the rules and you should of asked for the person in charge......

My dealer allows refunds up to fifty bucks; after that it's store credit/gift certificate.

The 2 sores that I go to in my area are store credit only returns. I figure I'll spend the money there sooner or later so it dosen't bother me that much.

It was my mistake for not making sure I could get my money back in something other than store credit. However, I didn't see any signs posted and have been able to return other items like shirts, belts, etc. with no problem. I guess my frustration comes from a) feeling like I'm getting screwed every time I walk in the place and b) not being treated as a valued customer. I've droppeda huge amount of hard earned cash in various HD shops and very few really make you feel appreciated. You'd think these dealers would put in at least a little effort to make us feel good about doing business with them. Then again, when you have the brand loyalty and recognition they do, why waste the effort.

Hope you dont ever have to go back for service work, they will remember how you treated them and sometimes thats not a good thing. Not saying that most dealers policies are good but they are just that .

I'm not condoning any dealers mistreatment of their customers because we all know the HD dealers for the most part, treat their customers like crap.
I'm in the minority. I have a dealer that gives me refunds.

I will say this about Return Policies...
LEGALLY, stores don't have to give you any refund or store credit. Giving refunds/store creditsis simply a practice of maintaining good customer relations.

what i don't like is if you are given something as a gift, you cannot return it anywhere other than the store where it was purchased. makes it difficult when i live in la, and my sister lives in va. not that i am in the habit of returning gifts, but sometimes you need to..... i understand if it is 'store specific' like a t-shirt with the dealer logo on it, but if its a hd part, that should be different. even if it is just store credit, i would take that rather than have 2 of the same parts....

Never thought about it before.
HD doesn't have a NATIONAL gift certificate program. Something they should look in to.
