Default Alarm

I have 07 ultra classic. I bought the bike used, had 900 miles on it. When I got it, I didn't get a alarm on and off thingy! So I really dont know if I have an alarm on the bike or not. Do not not where and what to look for. If I dont have one, what do I need from the dealer to get the bike to have an alarm. Thanks!

Look at the speedometer (I think) when you turn the bike to the "on" position and see if you can see a little red key in the middle of the speedo - if you have one there, you have an alarm; if not, you don't. Can someone else help me out here? I look at that friggin' thing all the time and I can't remember exactly where it is...!! <SHEESH!>

If the bike starts......you don't have an alarm.

If you had an alarm it wouldn't start with out the "alarm on and off thingy" otherwise know as a fob.

The bikes starts all the time. So I need to call the dealer and tell him that I do not have an alarm and I need everything for the alarm correct?

The bike will start - if it's not armed - when you turn on the ignition it will show a red key on the right hand side of the speedo. If it downs just pick up a FOB and program it.

OK I just turned the ignition on and the red key does show up. So I do have an alarm but its not activated correct. So you so all I need is a FOB and program it. Is it hard to progeam of do I need the stealer to do it?

What if the alarm system is there, but not set? Turn on the key and watch the speedo...you should see two red indicators if you have an alarm system and then they should both go out. If there's only one indicator (check engine light?) then you don't have an alarm system...I think. [8D]

epd612, I found the Aritronix alarms to be superior to the HD setup. They offer more features for the money (paging, cutoff, perimeter and angle sensors, range confirmation) and you install it yourself so you won't ever need the HD dealer for service or repairs. Unless you like their coffee!
