Absolutely, well worth it.
The Anniversary Edition was the only one in stock that had ABS brakes on it when I bought my bike, & that is the main reason I bought it.

I gather from the many replies that there is no problem with the first year ABS system.

My Salesman tried telling me not to get an 08 with ABS due to the first year bug syndrome, I suspect he knows that no current bike being delivered to the shophas ABS on it,

Very encouraging to note that no one is having issues, very encouraging,

Thanks much for the input,

A tourer is planned due to my wifes' interest in riding along, finally, after owning my Dyna since 03.She is the reasonI am considering the ABS,

(now, a Bat Wing, or Road Glide fairing bike? This for a later debate)

you never know it's there untill you need it, and by the time you realize you need it, it's already doing it's job. I would definatly recomend ABS to anyone buying a new bagger

ABS is here to stay.. I am a tech for Dodge and when ABS first came out we were all a little leary about it. Now that it's been out for years and it is practically standard equipment, I am extremely comfortable with it. I understand exactly what happens during an ABS "event" and realize how important it is. My 08 SG has it and I'm glad it does. Well worth the barely $700. I've had it activate a couple times in panic stops and I'm sure that it helped avoid what may havebeen a skid/lay down. Don't be afraid of this new option on HD, it's actually made by a company that has been making it on cars forever.. I love my SG!

Can't say I've used mine yet...hoping not too....

Not too long beforeI boughtmy UltraIdid a real world panicstop on my Deluxe full back lockup...stayed on it while it slide slightly to the left. I stopped safely, stayed up, and even got applauded. Decided then to by an '08 for the ABS over a used bike.
