my hats off to the sundowner seat.i use the two up seat .its the most comfortable seat i ever used except for my police seat on my 07 rkpi.my friend uses the sundowner solo seat and loves it to death.road to wash dc for memorial day fron nj and the ride on that seat was awesome.i was alittle concerned because i just bought the seat and had no time to test it out..it past all my butts test and more im a light 278lb and my friend with the solo seat is also in the same weight class..have no fear go...sundowner...

Have a Sundowner on my wide glide, and love it. Hate the stock seat on the Ultra and last Nov sent it down to Allen at meancitycycles. Cheaper than getting another Sundowner. Jury is still out as there's still snow on the ground!

I have the Mustang Ultra tour. It moves you up and forward. It's actually a bit wide for me, but still very comfortable. I also have the mustang backrest. Being able to just pop it out otf the socket is great.

I just put low profile seat from ultoma. Its lot like corbin. It is firm but fairly comfortable.havent made anytripps yet.Have 8000 miler this may and will be doing some but brakin runs to myrtle beach.I have had the gel pads before and they work great except raise you 1/2 inche higher.I will say the sundowner is great for riders, but it places me to fer foward,I ride in laid back position better.A big pair behind me to layback on helps too, might not want to tell your old lady about that opition.

Touring seat with driver back rest.
Some say Corbin are hard but still comfortable.
True, but are also expensive.

Mustang back rest NO tool removal.
Corbin's backrest also doesn't require a tool, or at least mine didn't. If you're considering a Sundowner solo it will not accommodate a backrest.

Harley with back rest actually cheaper......WHICH ONE!
My experience is only with solos, about 100k on two Corbins, 15k (most recent) on a Mustang. The Mustang is the equal of the most comfortable Corbin and was $200 cheaper with backrest.

Tried Sundowner. Dealer gave me 24 hrs to try it and bring it back if I didn't like it. I was waiting at his front door the next morning.

I've always had good luck with Mustang. I bought the Sport Touring Seat. It's the same width as the stock seat and the pillion is just a little bit bigger for Moma. I use the HD back rest with the combo and can go all day in it.

I'm a Corbin fan myself. Had them on a couple different bikes and love them. Firm? Yeah definitelybut I don't notice it. All I know is I'm not even aware of the seat while riding which i guess is a good thing? They just fit me perfectly for whatever reason. To other people they're a torture contraption so cant give you an answer as to your needs. You have to try them yourself basically.

Corbin: Just take the seat off, and ride on the frame rails. Its more comfortable. "Breaks in and conforms to you" my ***. I think if you just happen to have the right size/shape of butt that fits into the seat, and don't mind a HARD seat, you might like it. Hence the owners who swear by them. Otherwise, see the first sentence.

Sundowner: Good seat. I liked it alot, but the passenger section is lacking comfort for the wife as its quite narrow and shallow. (07 model-the 08s are wider in back) Not as well built as the other two, and I SUSPECT will not last or stay as comfortable as long as a better built seat. HD backrests SUCK (both types)

Mustang: I have the solo, also tried the one piece. Both are very comfortable, very well built, and the backrest is light years ahead of the HD versions. I also think the Mustang is far better constructed than the Sundowner, and will last longer. But you do of course pay for it.

Ultimate: Wife loved it, memory foam construction is great, backrest is great, but I felt a bit cramped/shoved forward. It also ain't the best looking horse in the race. If I fit the seat a little better, it would probably still be on my bike, looks aside.

My advice is to go with Mustang, order DIRECTLY from Mustang, be very careful mounting it, wrap in with saran wrap (to protect it) and try it for 10 days. If you don't like it, send it back for a refund and try something else. But it must be in PRISTINE condition, or they will charge you a restock fee.

This may be of some help.

Forget them all and do a www.ccseat.comThey are firm like a corbin but the quality is better and the price is too. Give them a shot you won't regret it.

I wish they had been offering the rider backrest back when I purchased. That (and the narrow rear section) was the only thing that stopped me from trying them. Which one do you have?
