Sweet! Thanks guys. I think I'm gonna still go with the run/brake light.

Pappy....I'm thinkin a black tri-bar wouldn't look too bad on that orange bike. It might fit right on with the black accents on the erst of teh bike....just a thought...

You can do the mod on a Road King and several HDFers have done it. If you have a RK Custom, your fender is the same as the Road Glide and it's an easy install.

If your RK is a Classic or Standard, there are holes in the lower portion of the rear fender that show when the chrome trim or fender tip lamp is removed and the SG facia is installed--so you either fill the holes and re-paint the fender or find a RG or RK Custom or SG fender color-matched or paint to match.

Sweet! Thanks guys. I think I'm gonna still go with the run/brake light.

I just did one on my rk custom (which is the same fender). I think it came out pretty good. I went with the 3m tape method, and it seems to be holding just fine. The rk custom does not have the plug under the seat that the sg has, so I plugged mine into the empty fender tip light in the tail light housing (the rk custom does not have a fender tip light, and neither does your RG). Once Harleypingman told me the connectors to use, it came together really fast. I love the look, and the added brake light is a plus (run/brake light). This pic was taken right after the install. I have sense put on shorter spacers on the rear mounting bracket of the bag support, to bring the bag and the fascia closer together, and it looks like it belongs there. The best thing was, when my wife bought the fascia for me (Christmas gift), the HD dealer said there was no way it would work... HAHAHA... thanks to this forum, I was able to prove them wrong... LOL

harleypingman. Do you have the part numbers or any information for the connectors to use to connect the run/brake light papatravis referenced above? Thanks

Ice, did you plug it into the empty plug up on the left side underneath the seat (towards the top front of the fender)? Or does the run/brak light splice/connect into your main brake light assembly?

The connector for plugging the LED into the tail light assembly (after removing the lens) is 73153-96BK. I don't have handy the PN for the sockets that attach to the end of the wires and plug into the tail light assembly. Send a PM to PapaTravis and he'll have the PN as I posted it on his project. I'll see if I can find his thread--not sure if it will turn up, so PM to him will probably get you the info faster.

Also, the sockets require special crimping--if you have an HD Service Manual, look at the Appendix and it will show what's involved. I bought a Philmore WS26 crimper for 8.00 USD at Fry's Electroics that worked well; or, have a HD tech do it for you.
