Default Painting saying's on a bike?

Just wondering what you think of painting stuff on a bike?
To make aLong story short:
My father GAVE me a 75 superglide before he passed away. It just wasnt enough bike for the wife and i, so we sold it and bought an ultra. I am seriously considering paint the phrase's:

Thanks Dad

on the rear fender towards the bottom

and

Its a long way to heaven,
But its one hell of a ride.

on the tour pack.

My concern is when it comes time to sell the bike, at the very least, if i romove the saying's the paint under will still be different.

What would you do?

It is a great tribute to your dad. I would do a little searching on-line for custom vinyl decals and use those rather than mess with the paint.

I'd say do it. Personally, it was your dad that gave you the means to get the ultra. For me it is a respect issue.

Hell yeah I would do it too. I have a lot of respect for my parents and my elders. I wouldn't hesitate for a second on thinking about it. I would just do it.

I have an 07 ultra which my wife named "Dammit" so i went to a local sign shop and told them that i wanted that name on the bottom of the tour pack so they measured what size i needed
they were able to make a vinyl 2 colored sign to match the bike and it only cost 7 dollars

Personally, I think it would think it would be a wonderful tribute to your Dad. However, know this...conducting your affairs by what people tell you to do on the internet is ill advised. Go with what your heart tells you...not what we do.
