I've used them for years with other bikes. With my new 07 RKC last summer, I couldn't hear enough of the motor sound. I switch to just half of a regular white cotton ball in each ear and that is just right. It blocks the wind buffering around my ear just enough and I can still hear enough of the emgine. Try it. I have to ride with something in my ears.

I use them with both helmets, open face and full.

I have custom made molds added with stereo speakers, so I can listen Rock'n Roll and King and information from Zumo 550.

Recommend!

Keep on rockin!

I wear them all the time. I palyed music in the clubs for years and the hearing is not what it used to be. Certain sounds are aggravating the ears once you start having hearing problems, wind for me is one of them.

Nice ride!

I Another thread discusses ringing sounds, which I get, but I think it may be from my medications.

I decided I won't need ear plugs anytime soon. Maybe a $50 pair would resolve the breathing and heartbeat thing, I dunno.[:@]
The ringing in the ears you referred to is called Tinitus and is usually accompanied with some sort of hearing loss.

for those interested in purchasing custom ear plugs, here is a little info you may find useful.
The ear plugs generally come in 3 different levels of protection. ER 9, ER 15 and ER25.
Most users get the ER15.
The ER15 protects up to 95 DB and offers a 15 DB reduction in sound. The ER25 protects up to 105 BD an offers a 25 DB reduction. The ER25 would be used for, let's say a drummer in a rock band. I think that for our purposes here, the ER15 would be ideal.
These filters will actually give the sensation of cutting out the background noise (wind and pipes) and allowing our tunes to penetrate through. That's my perception when wearing and riding.

Hope this helps those that are interested.

Studies show that up to 50% of fatigue at the end of the dayis caused by noise.Think how excited your signifiant other will be when you tell them you wore your earplugs today!
