If you are referring to the slop at zero throttle - that is caused by the twist grip sensor not fitting tightly in the handlebar - next time I have it apart I am going to close up the cutout in the end of the handlebar so that the twist grip sensor fits snugly.

Must be something wrong because with mine the throttle response is immediate.. I've ridden cable bikes forever and this is an easy transition. I work for a Dodge dealership and we have "drive-by-wire" on most cars now and the Harley system on my bike seems quicker to respond than our systems... Just my input. Hope you get it fixed! Good Luck!

We had a customer at our dealership had a problem with his idle we call tech services and the result was that with those new E-throttles if you don't take your had all the way off the throttle when you turn off the switch the ECM will remember where throttle was in position when you turned off the bike. So, if incidently you had your hand on the throttle when you turned off the switch you may not have noticed it will idle at the speed when u turn it back on. There isa way to clear it and it won't throw a code. I think the resolution was something to the effect of some thing posted previously. But, if not talk to your service department and have them clear it.

I took my throttle grip apart again - the slop is in the gears; so nothing can be done. The grip has a nylon ring gear that mates with the nylon gear on the electronic throttle control. I dont know why HD decided to put so much extra spacing in the teeth... but that is where your slop is coming from. Now, if you are having a problem with throttle hesitation - that is not right, you need to get that fixed asap.
