NOPE... UR 01 WAS DESIGNED FOR A REAR TIRE NO BIGGER THAN AN MT90-16..IF U PUT AN MU85 ON THE REAR ITLL MAKE CONTACT WITH THE SIDEWALL AND FINAL DRIVE BELT.. I KNOW IVE BEEN THERE.. HD WILL ONLY RECOMMEND THE SAME SIZE TIRE THE BIKE CAME WITH.. I CALLED MILWAUKEE!!! DONT DO IT IF U DONT WANT PROBLEMS.. UR ANSWER IS YET IT WILL FIT ON THE RIM.. BUT IT IS ABSOLUTLY THE WRONG TIRE FOR UR MCY. DONT WASTE UR TIME AND $$,,UNLESS U WANT TO !
On my 98 RK I went to a Avon 140/90/16 w/o any trouble. No rubbing what so ever. Goto Metzler and see on their website for +1 MOCO will tell you that info you must stick with the tire that came on that particular year m/c for liabilty reasons.
I asked this question a while ago. I have a 2002 road king that came (used) with the MU85B16. There was a slight scuffing on some places on the side wall from the belt. Is This the wrong tire for the bike? (Too late - I already had the stealer install a new one. )
