Default Clearview 6.5" recurve vs. 8" standard

Anyone had a chance to compare the Clearview 6.5" recurve with a standard 8" shield??? Is the wind protection the same on the two?? Or more with one than the other.

I've got both.....used a 8" Fastaire before I got the 6.5 Clearview (w/recurve).....they both do about the same thing...I think the Clearview works better the faster you go and it looks a hell of a lot better

So if you had to compare the wind and bug deflection of the two you would say they are equal????

Have owned both and the clearview is better made, better looking and provide the same coverage.

I had a 8" standard shield on for quite awhile, then last year put a 6.5" Clearview recurve on. They seem to both be about the same for wind for me. Now, I'm 6' and use a solo seat that sits way back and down. I could see over the 8", but even more with the 6.5". I think the 6.5 looks alot better also.

I was just thinking about this same question.................

I just took off my 9" Fastaire shield and installed a 8" Clearview with recurve................and I'm anxious to see if the coverage is the same or better. The Clearview with recurve should be equal to a 9.5" or 10" standard shield, so the coverage should be slightly better..........and I like the looks of the shorter shield on the bike.

I'll be trying it out this week..............weather is finally getting better.

I have not tried an 8 incher, but I have the 6.5 Clearview recurve. It does a great job of redirecting the flow over my head. I'm 5'9". I have the C&C Sport Tour seat which settles me a little lower into the bike.
