I love the DIY thread~Lots of great projects for cheap!
This footboard mod is something I've been thinking about too.
Someone mentioned checker plate that's a great look. As far as polishing goes, how about "engine turning" I've always thought that was a classic aviation touch. Plus it will hide imperfections.
Can't wait till we put the machine shop back together. . .hehehehe
