Going to install the JMCB 2003. Any tips on where to find the hot wire and to ground the unit?. Any tips would be appreciated.

 

Knowing what bike it's going on might stimulate some responses--just a thought.

Larry, you could use the cigarette lighter; it's on the left side of the fairing (where you will probably mount the CB) and very accessible.

FWIW: Biketronics who sell an interface unit for installation of a Sony headunit on EG Standards and others, recommends good grounding for the performance of theheadunitwhich, for them, means the groundon the triple tree to the left of the steering head IIRC. Crimp a spade connector on the end of the ground wire, loosen the bolt that secures the other grounds using a 3/8" open-end or boxed wrech (I don't think there was enough room for a socket), then slide the spade connector under the bolt head and re-tighten.

Curious--what do the instructions say about grounding?
