Default Big Sucker Stage 1 on 2008 Touring

Anyone out there have an Arlen Ness Big Sucker Stage 1 air cleaner kit (18-512) on their 2008 Touring bike. I bought one and my buddy tried to put it on — and struck out. Said the backplate didn't fit snug, left a gap. Is there a trick to putting it on?

Thanks

I just got my PCIII and Big Sucker from FuelMoto the other day. I am going to install it this weekend. I will let you know if I have any problems.

If it's like the SE one you have to remove the bracket for it to fit. If you don't there will be about a 16th inch gap, not good.

I already have the SE installed — by the dealer. Wanted to replace with the Ness, but apparently it didn't fit. Trying to find out what's missing here...

Bingo from this forum was kind enough to do a pictorial install of a SEAC. I liked it and saved it.
try this link and see if it helps you. If it does then Thank BINGO. These are the fruits of HIS labor, not mine. I just saved the link
How To - 08 SE Air Cleaner install.

The support bracket that comes OFF in picture 1 of the above link, does that stay ON when installing the Ness? Maybe that's it — maybe that bracket came off when the dealer installed the SE and I need to put it back on before putting on the Ness?

You guys made me go look at my bike. Yes the bracket is still there and everything looks flush and it runs great.
I was going to put on one of those cool A/C inserts w/o the football to show off mychrome back plate but then you have to look at that ugly connector for theETC. So I put the football back on.

[sm=confused06.gif]I show the pn# to be 18-513 not 512. Was that a typo or could it be the reason it doesn't fit?
