Default Seat help

Before buying a product I always like to ask those who know more than I do. So I wanted a oppion on the RK Sundowner vs the stock seat on my 06 classic. I got the stock seat with a drivers backrest and its ok but my other bike had a Mustang and it was quite a bit better. I like the basketweve look of the RK seat so I was thinking of the Sundowner in stead of going Mustang on this new bike. Any oppions?

If you have a backrest with the stock seat and want to keep a backrest, the Mustang solo with backrest will move you back about 1.5" since it doesn't have the framework for the backrest mechanism under the seat. I had the one piece stock seat and the one piece touring mustang seat and much prefer the solo mustang with backrest and passenger pad to the others since I like sitting back farther. But I might add, my wife hates the new mustang passenger pad. The one piece touring seat was much more comfortable for her, but not me. But she has her own bike now so she won't be riding back there very often now. The nice thing about the mustang solo is if you ride solo much you can take off the passenger pillion and improve the looks of the bike, in my opinion.
Plus if you're married, it keeps all those young chicks from wanting to ride with you when your wife's not there !

Many people here like the sundowner and find it very comfortable, plus you will be able to use your backrest even though it may not match the seat. Unfortunately the only real opinion that matters is yours and you can't make a good choice until you put the seat on the bike and go for a ride. I have a sundowner on my glide and while it is alot better than the stock seat I am still wanting to get a corbin dual tour.

I have a Corbin Dual Touring, and I'm not crazy about it. I find it makes me sit a little too far back, and thus it makes the seat height feel high. I'm thinking about getting something different.

My wife would tell you to buy nothing but the one piece touring Mustang seat. My friend had a Corbin on his RK and tried the one piece I was going to sell and he and his wife both liked it, so they bought it from me. According to my wife I should have kept it :-)

Gotta go with the Sundowner. My butt and wife love it. I had a Mustang on my last bike, it was a great seat. But for the money and the fact that it matches your bags, I'd go with Sundowner.
