Here is a link to a recentMilwaukee Journal Sentinel Article about a rouge group of ex-Harley Davidson engineers (Gray Eagles) that created a diesel powered bike.

Do you think HD will buy into this concept and actually produce it?

Bad timing, around here Diesel is more expensive than gas. Of course the extra mileage might make up for the higher cost. Harley's are expensive now, my diesel truck cost more than it's gas counterpart so it would only figure a diesel bike would be more expensive out the door. Don't know about this idea.

water cooled harly's in the 80's... radiator under the seat.... hmmmm, I think it was 1986 that honda came out with their water cooled off road bikes, I had the first production model 250r quad and got it in 2005 4 months before they were available to the public.....sounds like Harley was ahead of the game if that is what you wanted, I prefer my harley's to be air cooled, can get twice the power with the water cooled but I love the look and the nastalgia of the air cooled, seems more real and stylish

That turbo looks neat hanging out there but it's HOT! I have a Grand National Buick and that hair drier fairly glows. Cool idea anyway though..
