Default Hello! I´m new! Searching for good Soloseat!

Hello to all.

I´m new in this forum. I´m driving a 2001 Road King Classic here in germany.

I was thinking, the best way to get good informations is to get the information from drivers in the country were my bike was made.

So, i´m here ;-) ! And please, excuse my bad english.

I´m looking for a seat. It´s not so important if it´s a solo or two up seat. I would prefer a solo one. I want to get one, that gives me the feeling to sit "in" the bike not "on" it. With good support for the lower back and one that is a little bit lower than the original one.
In my opinion the original two-up seat is to soft, high and has no back support.

I was searching the internet and found the Corbin solo classic. But i have now one i could ask if this seat achieves my wishes.

And i have a question to the exhaust. I´m looking for some Vance & Hines Oval Slip Ons. To get a better sound than the stock pipes give, is it enough to change only the mufflers or would you say it´s better to change the head pipes, too?
I don´t want to get very load but only a little more than the stock pipes. If you think it is necessary to change the head pipes too, do i have to set up the engines specifications?

I hope you can help me or give some other ideas.

Greets from Germany

Pawnee

WELCOME TO THE FORUM...
CORBIN makes GREAT SEATS... Yes they are built to go the distance and they offer MORE SUPPORT (harder which you said you're looking for) then most of the other seats out there.. There SOLO seat & there Dual Tour Seat will move you back and down a bit and have the option of adding a backrest (highly recommend on any longer rides)...
Corbin Seats have a LOVE\HATE relationship and you will Love the Seat or Hate it (there's no in between) I have had many CORBIN seats and many different bikes and have completed a Iron Butt or two using there seats...

Welcome, I would recommend the C&C seat also. I have always used Corbin in the past, because I too prefer a firmer seat. The C&C seats are firm but very comfortable and the fit, quality, and workmanship is better than the Corbin seats I have owned.

I have both the C&C and the Saddlemen solo seats.........The C&C is lots harder on your butt and it places the rider 2" farther back than the Saddlemen....I prefer the Saddlemen not only for comfort, but also riding position.

P.S....I was born in Germany and graduated school there...Great place, great people...I miss it....Welcome to the USA!

I just put a Corbin Dual Touring seat on my Electra Glide and it's very comfortable from the first ride. It sits me just a bit lower and a bit further back than the factory seat. Very happy with it.

Oh, thanks for your experiences. If there are some more please write down all your ideas.

The C&C, is there a internet adress? And can somebody help me with exhaust question, too?

Thanks Pawnee

By the way, here some pictures from very nice bikes, DI75, Arizona and Whiskers and many more. Really, never seen such touring bikes here in Europe.

Here's a pic of the Corbin Classic Solo. This is a great seat. High quality, very comfortable and it looks good. It also comes with a lock and key for extra security.
