I orderd my 550 from PCRush this past Monday. Just was notified via e-mail that the order has shipped. For those with Amex cards, I used thier Shop Amex service and paid using my points. Price was $688.52.

I got mine from PCNation, as have several buds.... No issues whatsoever. They had a "next day" delivery special for $9 when I got it but that was probably close to a yr ago.

Regarding the XM antenna placement.... I made a hanger out of .75" aluminum strap from hardware store & hung it from the bolts that hold one of my saddle bag spoilers. The antenna stays just under the lid of oneof the bags - out of sight, but easy for me to pull out in case I wanna is it in the car. The antenna comes with an extension cable that I ran from the zumo to the bag, so I simply unplug the connection there to remove the bag or the antenna.

I like this splash screen and have it on my 550 now. I had another HD splash screen but after the 550 came back from Garmin for repair, they wiped all my personal stuff off the unit. I like this splash screen better.

I ordered mine from PCNation. Free shipping arrived in two days. No problems what so ever. I love it. Only thing i noticed is there is no audio on the bike mount. Not that i could hear it running down the road, but kind of surprised me.

Also what is the Garmin Zumo forum website. I tried a search on here to find the other thread, but i do not have any luck finding anything with the search tool on this forum.

I made a mistake and ordered a GPS from TRUSTEDDEALER.COM. What a bunch of liars. In their policies, posted on their website, they state that the item will be shipped within hours of your credit card being charged.

I placed my order on 2-7-08 and they charged my card the same day. On Monday (2-11-08) I called to get a tracking number and was told that it shipped that day but they would not give me a tracking number. I called again on Tuesday (2-11-08) was told that it had shipped on Friday (2-8-08) and again they refused to give me a tracking number. They didn't have one because it had not shipped. On Wednesday (2-13-08) I received an email that the GPS had shipped but still no tracking number and the contact phone number changed. On Thursday (2-14-08) I called again and this time I got a tracking number. When I looked on the UPS website it showed that the item had actually shipped on 2-13-08, that's 6 days after they charged my credit card.

I looked them up on the Better Business Bureau website. They have an unsatisfactory rating with BBB and over the past 12 months have had 51 complaints filed with very few resolved. I also receiveda call trying to sell me an extended warranty and they said Garmin only warrantied the item for 30 days. Garmin warranties their units for 1 year.

Long story short, I will check out any websites with the BBB before I place any more orders. My second choice for ordering was TIGERGPS.COM and when I check them out on BBB they had only had 4 complaints in the past 12 months and 2 of them had already been resolved.

Do not order anything from TrustedDealer.com or Digitaldirect.com (same company) regardless of the price unless you want to deal with liars.

I like the ZUMO 550 but it does not know its way through the back roads of LA. It also knows some really dumb roots to take like mapquest. Of course if you don't know the way, it will get you there. It is a real neat toy. I'm glad I have one but you don't need one.
Change your route preferences and avoidances. You'd be surprised at the backroads it'll take you down.
