I, too, have a Zumo 550. Also have Satellite radio which requires a Garmin XM antenna. Been trying to figure out the best way to attach the antenna to the bike. I called Ram-Mount and asked. They have a plate that goes between the GPS cradle (what you set the GPS into) and the round plate with the 1" ball that comes from Ram-Mount. It is magnetized and the antenne sits on the top round surface of that part. The part number is 344U.

When I get it, I'll let you all know how I works by starting a new post.

Here is the most reliable GPS I have found (cheapest as well): http://www.amazon.com/McNally-United...092&sr=1-1. Gets me every where I need to go and it has never failed me. Easily upgradable on a regular basis. LoL

Yea, but it's so hard to hold a map and the handle bars.

Are Zumo 550's waterproof? A couple of these units are and they real pricey.

Here's where I got my Zumo 550.
Very easy to work with had in 3 days.
It's worked flawlessly since.
I still haven't seen all it can do, but very happy.

I like the ZUMO 550 but it does not know its way through the back roads of LA. It also knows some really dumb roots to take like mapquest. Of course if you don't know the way, it will get you there. It is a real neat toy. I'm glad I have one but you don't need one.

I bought a reconditioned, and it said in the ebay ad that it had a one year warranty, but after I bought it they send a email trying to sell me an 'extended warranty' that covers all and any damage and all, and said that my warranty was only for 30 days, which I stated it specifically said in the ebay ad that it was one year and we would deal with it accordingly if there were issues within that period and the seller decided not to cover it.
I won't deal with them again cause I do not care for people that try to scare someone into spending more with them. BS tactic, and I consider them lacking integrity enough for me to help keep in business.
Watch out for this crap, and cover your back so it doesn't corner you.
