New tires?? Need some ideas 2002 RKC
Hey guys, Ive done the searches and read the posts, But I'm just not 100% decided on which tires I should get for my scoot. I'm only in need of a rear tire for now, My last Dunlop 402 lasted about 12000 miles!! I'm just not sure exactly the size that I would want though. I've heard lots of good things about the Metzelers but I want a tire that will still wear well. I need a Wide White Wall also. I would like to try to finda slightly wider rear tire that what is currently on the bike, What is the widest rear that would fit comfortably?
Any ideas?? I'm sure that I'll probably stick with the dunlop but I'm open to suggestions.

Metzler 880's!!! You can put a 140 on the rear as I have done on two bikes, an Ultra and a RK. Also was told by the place where I bought mine that you need to run higher tire pressures in the Metzler tires. They recommended 40 in the front and fifty in the rear! I really like them and they are way better than those Dunlops.

Why trim your beltguard or even remove it (uggh!) to run a nice 2004-and-up MU85 (or up to 142 mm wide) tire when you can order a Pingel Rear Sprocket Spacer and mount a new Dunlop.

Better contact patch, more stability, and longer tread life. This is one of the best accessories I put on my Road King...

Not sure if this applies, but the Dunlop has a very stiff
sidewall which helps prevent rollover when a flat happens.
Do the others do that? Prehaps they do (I don't know)
so handling becomes an issue.
I had Avon Venoms for a while. Handled VERY well because
the tire is softer but then the sidewall was too. Almost
wreaked my bike after I went over a very large spike!
I've heard good things about the Michelin but not from anyone who has put "many" miles on 'em.
I'm sure you will get 10000 opinions.
