GladI read this thread. I'd have thought this would have been a simple job. Guess not.

OK, you guys have talked me out of doing this myself. Another individual told me also about the springs under the switch caps. If you loose one, it cost $$$ to replace.

The springs are the least of the problem

The spring is nothing but you need to be careful with the right side or you will break the breaklight switch button right off. They are a pain in the can. I did mine without removeing all the switches which helped but did them before the service manuel came in and thats when i found out about the breaklight switch. That and the fact that the breaklights were stuck on. yeha.

A friend of mine who is a wrench here at an indy shop told me that if I do it myself to let the new switches heat up a little to make them more flexible. I bought a set about 6 months ago and still have not installed them. Not that I'm scared to do it, (I'm an aircraft mechanic by trade and to all my own serice work on my bike) I just hate like hell opening up the switch housings. Oh well, I've gota tree day weekend this weekend so maybe I'll do it then.

Did mine myself. Tedious, but not impossible. I'd give it6 on the PITA scale.

Labor cost at a dealer will be 5x what they cost.
