I have both the Harley GPS and Bluetooth system on my '06 SE Ultra.

I own 4 different GPS systems (Magellan, Garmin, Jeep factory and Harley) and the Harley integrated GPS system is the least feature rich of the group. As has been pointed out in various threads, the major drawback of the HD system is that there is no map display - simply a turn by turn instruction list. That said, I like the HD GPS because it integrates seemlessly with the new advanced audio system. The nav instructions can be sent either to your headset or speaker and can easily be heard over background music, intercom or CB conversations. Plus, I like the clean look - no additional boxes hanging off the dash.

As for the bluetooth, it is an expensive module but it works great with my Motorola bluetooth enabled phone. People cannot even tell that I am calling them from my bike. The downside of this (as well as with the other add-ons) is the 'fiddle factor.' The system is well integrated but trying to remember what button does what or trying to select one of the many modes (tel/CB/CD/FM/AM/Int) can easily divert one's attention from the road. That's why I practice with my system while sitting still in the driveway.

Overall, I am satisfied with all the advanced audio system modules in spite of the fact they are relatively expensive. Let me know if you have other specific questions.

Stay Safe

Where do they mount the interface modules for the GPS and BLUETOOTH? I was told they would both be mounted in the tour pack. If so, do they take up a lot of space, or are they small units?
I'm thinking of getting both of the the Harley interfaces for my 06 Ultra.

All of the advanced audio system modules install under the front fairing with the exception of the bluetooth module (and the power amplifier). The bluetooth module installs inside the tour pak. Harley says to mount it vertically on the left side (side that the hinge is on) of the pak. My SE has a lined tour-pak so this ment I would have had to cut the liner for the install. I opted instead to install it flat against the bottom of the tour-pak. That way, the liner still fits if I push down in it. Still not perfect but better than hacking on the liner.

The BT module measures 5"x7"x2" and is a pretty straightforward install. The toughest part is running a wiring haness from the front all the way back to the tour-pak.

Hope this helps.

Crazie, Thats Crazy!

You spend $1000.00 for the integrated system of Bluetooth and GPS then you have to mount the modules on a new bike? Or did you add these on later?

Sounds like a Goldwing.

Anyone have the XM radio?

I'm looking for the laptop and PDA connection next. And maybe the the Direct TV connection after that. Ha-ha.

Just had to throw in my .02.

Actually the dealer added them. They were unavailable when I got the bike (Last Oct) and I had them installed as soon as I could get my hands on them.
