Default Last Road King Handle Bar Thread

I know there have been soooo many discussions on Road King Handle Bar replacements on this forum. I am 6 feettall and I am ready to get rid of the crappy stock bars but would like one last look at the possibilities that fellow baggers have gone to. All I want to do is raise the stock bars 3-4 inches and bring them back 3-6 inches. If you have the time and own a bagger, could you possibly post a photo of your new bars installed on your bike and provide the manufacture, model number and the reason you went with them. Thanks in advance……I promise, I’ll never bring this subject up again!![:'(]

I'm 6'2" and have an 08 RKC. I am in the process of changing to SE RoadKing (FatBars). I sat on a SE RK and loved the bars. Check it out if your dealer has one. It brings it up and back a bit, but I can't tell you the exact numbers. I also added a hydraulic clutch, but that's a different story. The SE RK bars are different than the RK Fatbars...

I just ordered the Heritage bars to put on my '07 RK Classic. I looked at the Wild 1 518 bars. Someone compared the 518's to pushing a wheel barrel and the Heritage bars to pushing a lawn mower. Will let you know when I get them installed if that is an accurate statement.

I'm 6'2"...6'3" on a good day. I switched out to Wild 1 Chubby 518's which you can see on my sig picture. Absolutely love the bars! The finish on them is incredible, they're comfortable too. If you'd like to come by my house I'd be happy to let you sit on the bike.

Hey Fishpro,

I was being a smart *** about coming by my place...then I saw that you're just up the road from me about an hour. Now I'm really serious...send me a PM with your phone #. If the weather is good next weekend maybe we can get together at the Pinon Truck stop - about half way.

Whiskers.

The SERK fat handlebar for the 08 RKC, according to the P&A catalogue,"does not fit with Heated Hand Grips, Hydraulic Clutch Kits........" etc.

But I see that JCBPA has a hydraulic clutch. [sm=dontgetit.gif]. I've orderedthe fat barfor my 08 RKC, and I'd like to put heated (Ironside) grips on. Will this be possible? Or a heated grips simply not compatible with the SERK fat bar for some reason?[sm=thanx.gif]

I've been doing the same thing, which bars? which bars?
After talking with gosh knows how many people it looks like I've narrowed it down to the Chubby 8.5" or 10" apes. These will do exactly what you/I are looking for.
