Slip-on's before break-in????
On most previous bikes I have owned I usually wait a little before modding. Deciding on parts. Waiting for stuff to arrive. Well I have the Rinehart slip-on's in the garage that came off of my RG trade-in that I am planning on using for a while. Would there be any harm in running them before the break-in period is done. Well outside of the desire to get on it that is.

Fuel Pak and hi-flo are on the way. It is just real hard to deal with stock pipes when I have a perfectly good set of Rineharts sitting there. Just wanted to make sure there was no harm in changing before the break-in. I have always waited before for the reasons ststed above.

No problem with installing them before break-in, we install slip ons all the way up to huge motor builds before break-in, but a proper map must be installed to keep it from being to lean. Thats where the problem comes from. Evan Rinehart slip ons are open enough to let the motor breath better and take an already lean map and make it leaner, 15 to 1 to 15.7 to 1 is lean enough stock, with open slip ons you can be into the high 16 to 1 range. that will burn a motor down by a 1000 miles.

My bike came new from the dealer with V&H Classics. No reason/need to wait for break-in.
You know as well as the rest of us...these bikes demand mods as soon as you roll 'em off the lot. They get pissy if you don't start decking them out immediately. Just like a woman with her gold & diamonds, HD's demand bling too!
