ORIGINAL: TexasRedneck

I put 'em in AFTER the plug-in adapter to convert the tail lights to running/brake/park, so they flash with the brakes/turn signals as well. Folks behind me say they REALLY light up...
What adapter might that be? Is it a HD part? If so, part #? If not, link?

Thanks!

Drilling holes in a perfectly good lit concerns me. But they do create a cool look.

I'm adding them also.... about drilling the lids, once you learn what NOT to do you'll never do it again. Being one that can laugh at the dumb things I have done, albeit it took me a very long time to laugh about this one.... Back in 89 or 90, I was adding a spoiler and luggage rack to my Wing........ had been hanging in the garage with a friend and since we were done riding for the day we had a few cold ones....... long story short, between the bullshi**ing and beers, I missed the drill points by an easy 1/2 inch........... I don't remember what it cost me but I know I'll NEVER frigg'n make that mistake again. So take your time, place them correctly, don't drink beers and it'll be a pice of cake...........

I have them; easy installation. I wired them to the HD run/brake/turn signal module, PN 69462-04A, so they function as run/brake/turn signals. The standard installation will include a harness to connect to the P&A Accessory power supply under the seat near the battery and the LED's will function as run/brake lights. For mine, I cut-off the Y-connector (that connects to the P&A Connector)and connected one of the left LED's power wires to the violet wire, and one of the right LED's power wires to the brown wire coming out of the module, and connected a black wire from each LED to a black ground wire in the module. You can make these connections with a splice or, as I did, remove the wire/pin from the module; cut it off; and insert two wires in a new pin terminal;crimp; and, then reinsert the terminal into the socket.

Got a set for Christmas and I love them. Adds a whole new look and more lighting.

I installed them myself, not bad at all.

The dealer my wife got them from did not stock them but did a search for the correct color and had them in 2 days!

i have them also and did the install myself. like everyone has said, if you pay attention and take your time it will be a snap. one thing i didnt see anyone mention, but is a good trick to use, cover the area you are about to drill with masking tape before drilling. this will keep the paint and/or plastic from peeling upward or chipping. i took a little more risk/challenge in obtaining mine. i scoured ebay over and over until i found a set that matched color and looked new in the box (they really were..lol) really ended up getting them in less time than ordering from the stealer and got a good deal to boot.
