I did similaras cms1528 did for 1/2 helmet.
Have the H-D set and sewed velcro patches on inside of one of the down straps, also used velcro to wrap around connection points on helmets so it stays put (you have to trim it u a bit so it wraps over and around with not much bulk).
Also had to stretch cable a bit but it works just fine and I can switch them back and forth from the 1/2's to the full face wife and I wear in colder temps.

The wife and I use these with half helmets and they work well.
On long rides, when wearing them on consecutive days I usually put a bandaid behind my left ear because it starts to get a bit sore, but not too bad. It is because the cord is on that side and the weight of it pulls it down some.

We both have full face modular helmets with the HD intercom system installed in each. But we also have 1/2 helmets with headsets made for half helmets from Sierra Electronics. Initially they had a bad batch of wiring, and I must have sent back 6 sets due to shorts and dead earpieces. But they finally got it right, and I like the sound quality better than the HD (which isn't saying much...) But anyway, it gives you the option to go with the 1/2 helmet if you want.
